Job description
Business Development Lead – IT Donations

Are you passionate about digital inclusion, sustainability, and creating real impact through technology?

This Business Development Lead – IT Donations role could be your perfect next step.

As a Business Development Lead – IT Donations sits at the heart of this mission, you'll help expand a transformative circular-technology initiative in South Africa while working with purpose-driven organisations committed to creating social and environmental value.

In this part‑time freelance position (approximately 4 hours per day OR 2.5 days per week), you'll take the lead in driving nationwide partnerships that enable repurposed IT equipment to reach communities that need it most.

Your role is centred around securing corporate and institutional donors of used laptops, desktops, servers, and related hardware—turning what would have been e‑waste into powerful tools for opportunity.

You'll be responsible for crafting tailored value propositions, building strong relationships with decision‑makers, and engaging organisations eager to align with ESG, CSI, BBBEE, and tax‑efficient donation strategies.

You'll also represent the organisation at conferences, industry forums, and strategic meetings, playing a visible role in expanding digital access across the country.

This role suits someone who is entrepreneurial, persuasive, and highly connected—especially within the NGO, development, sustainability, or social enterprise space.

A proven ability to secure in‑kind donations or establish partnerships with corporates will set you up for success.

Strong communication skills, comfort with travel, and an authentic passion for digital equity will make you thrive here.

What You’ll Bring
  • 7–10+ years in business development, partnerships, or fundraising
  • Demonstrated success securing partnerships or donations
  • Knowledge of ESG, BBBEE, and donation‑linked tax benefits
  • Excellent networking and presentation abilities
  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
What's on Offer
  • Freelance remuneration of around R pm (negotiable)
  • Part‑time flexibility
  • The chance to support a pioneering circular‑tech model
  • A mission‑driven, international working environment
  • The opportunity to create measurable community impact

If you're driven by purpose and excited about technology for good, this is the role that lets you shape real change.
