Job description
Summary of role

The Business Analyst will support the Rationalisation Project by leading process engineering activities related to a system under development. The role requires strong capability in process discovery, modelling, optimisation, and governance, with the objective of standardising and rationalising accommodation-related processes. The incumbent will translate business needs into well-defined processes and functional requirements that support improved compliance, efficiency, and digital enablement.

Responsibilities
Business Analysis and Process Discovery
  • Elicit, analyse, and document business processes across the value chain of the project.
  • Facilitate structured workshops and interviews with internal & external stakeholders to document current-state (AS-IS) processes, business rules, and control points.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and duplication that impede rationalisation objectives.
Process Engineering and Optimisation
  • Apply process engineering and re-engineering principles to design future-state (TO-BE) processes that support standardisation, simplification, and improved service delivery.
  • Develop process improvement recommendations that balance operational feasibility, compliance requirements, and system enablement.
  • Ensure process designs align with institutional policies, governance frameworks, and applicable legislation.
Process Modelling and Documentation
  • Produce high-quality process models using BPMN and recognised modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or equivalent.
  • Develop comprehensive process artefacts, including process maps, SIPOC diagrams, RACI matrices, business rules catalogues, control frameworks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a structured process and requirements repository to support traceability, auditability, and reuse.
Rationalisation and Governance Support
  • Support the Rationalisation Project by analysing process overlap and fragmentation and proposing consolidation or elimination opportunities.
  • Assist in defining process ownership, accountability, performance measures, and escalation mechanisms.
  • Contribute to process-related inputs for policy reviews, compliance assessments, and audit engagements.
Requirements Definition and Digital Enablement
  • Translate optimised process designs into clear functional and non-functional requirements to support system enhancements, integrations, or workflow automation.
  • Collaborate with ICT, architects, and delivery teams to ensure requirements are solution-agnostic, testable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Support user acceptance criteria definition and traceability between processes, requirements, and delivered solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement and Change Support
  • Engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across business and technical domains.
  • Communicate complex process and requirements concepts clearly and in a structured manner.
  • Support change management activities by documenting process impacts, transition states, and adoption considerations.
Key Deliverables
  • AS-IS and TO-BE process models for the project. A process rationalisation analysis and recommendations.
  • Business and functional requirements documentation where required. Standardised process frameworks and SOPs.
  • Process governance and ownership artefacts. Inputs into the system and automation initiatives.
  • A consolidated analysis and process improvement report aligned to project objectives.

Experience
