  • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
  • Process employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.

Bookkeeper/Accountant

Position: Intermediate Bookkeeper/Accountant

Salary: R20 000 – R30 000 CTC (Negotiable based on experience)

Key Performance Areas (KPA)
  • Financial Record-Keeping
    • Record daily financial transactions accurately in accounting software.
    • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly documented.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
    • Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly.
    • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.
    • Assist in following up on outstanding client payments.
  • Bank Reconciliations
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Expense Tracking
    • Monitor and categorize expenses to ensure proper budget allocation.
    • Assist in preparing expense reports for management review.
  • Tax Compliance
    • Prepare and file VAT returns and other tax submissions in compliance with regulations.
    • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Payroll Management
    • Process employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.
    • Maintain records of employee hours, benefits, and deductions.
    • Prepare payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Reporting
    • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  • Administrative Support
    • Support senior accountants with year‑end financial preparations.
    • Ensure all financial documentation is well‑organized and easily accessible.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Criteria
  • Matric and relevant Financial Diploma/Degree in Accounting.
  • MS Office, Advanced Excel, Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting (experience in the tourism industry is a plus).
