Job summary

An established accounting firm in Pretoria is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper. The candidate should have at least three years of experience in an accounting practice. Bookkeeper positions available in Pretoria.

Our Client, an established firm of Auditors and Accountants, located in the East of Pretoria, holds a vacancy for a Bookkeeper.

Qualifications – Degree or diploma not a requirement but the level of experience will be the determining factor, at least three years in an accounting practise / firm.

Salary ranges from R25 000 – R28 000 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing of day to day transactions, bank entries, suppliers invoices and customer invoices as well as journal entries
  • Preparing the monthly / bi-monthly VAT returns and the submission thereof
  • Knowledge of Pastel Partner, Xero and Sage, Quick Books
  • Some knowledge of Pastel Payroll will be good but not mandatory
  • Good working knowledge of Company Act and Income Tax Act
  • Knowledge of VAT and Employees tax and related items (COIDA/ UIF)
  • Knowledge of Easy File and SARS E-Filing
  • Candidate must come from an accounting practice background – Very Important
  • Candidate must be able to perform under pressure with the understanding of several deadlines
  • Knowledge Tax will be a definite advantage;
    • Completing and submitting of annual tax returns;
    • Knowledge of E-Filing very important;
    • Ensure compliance of clients with SARS legislation;
    • Corresponding with SARS regarding tax matter.
