You will handle insurance verification, manage prior authorizations, and conduct billing administration to maintain smooth operations. Candidates should have prior experience in medical billing and outstanding communication abilities. Familiarity with insurance processes and a solid organizational skillset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Contact insurance companies to verify patient eligibility and benefits.
  • Confirm and follow up on prior authorizations.
  • Accurately update and maintain insurance information in the system.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide administrative support to the billing team as needed.

Join our team as a Billing & Eligibility Specialist supporting US-based ABA therapy services. You will assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and billing administration to ensure smooth operations and accurate reimbursement processes.

PLEASE NOTE
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST (4:00 PM - 01:00 AM South African time - subject to daylight savings)
  • Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA)
  • Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered
  • Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered
  • Work Environment: Fully remote
Job Responsibilities
  • Contact insurance companies to verify patient eligibility and benefits.

    • Familiarity with insurance portals and authorization procedures.

  • Technical Skills
    • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Outlook.
    • Comfortable navigating systems to update records accurately.
