Behaviour Support Assistant - KS3 to KS5 (SEN School)

Location: Specialist SEN School

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: £100-£125 per day (negotiable)

Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a confident, resilient and highly adaptable Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school supporting students aged 11-19 (KS3-KS5). This is a full-time role suited to someone with previous SEN school experience who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable responding to changing needs throughout the school day.

You will play a key role in supporting behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation across the school, working closely with teaching and pastoral staff.

The Role
  • Provide in-class behaviour support across multiple lessons and departments
  • Respond quickly and professionally to behaviour support requests from staff
  • Deliver short‑term, targeted interventions on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis
  • Support students with regulation, engagement and transitions
  • Assist with off‑site activities, including swimming and outdoor learning
  • Follow changing timetables and priorities with flexibility and professionalism
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have experience working in a specialist SEN school (essential)
  • Be flexible and confident supporting different age groups and needs
  • Be physically active and able to support students with complex needs
  • Demonstrate resilience and confidence managing behaviours that challenge
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain a calm, professional and proactive approach at all times

Please note: Mainstream-only experience or sports coaching backgrounds are not suitable for this role.
