Job summary

A leading hospitality company in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Bar Waiter to provide exceptional service. Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking drink orders, and maintaining the bar area. Candidates must have prior experience and strong knowledge of drinks. Flexibility in hours is required for evening and weekend shifts. A valid passport and medical examination will be necessary for international travel.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Take and deliver drink orders accurately and efficiently
• Ensure the bar is stocked with all necessary supplies
• Prepare and serve drinks according to company standards
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area
• Handle cash and credit card transactions
• Provide recommendations and knowledge about our drink menu to guests
• Upsell additional drinks and promotions to guests
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and intervene as needed
• Assist with setting up and breaking down the bar area
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
• Provide excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Bar Waiter or similar role
• Knowledge of different types of drinks and their ingredients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Basic math skills for handling cash and credit card transactions
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and background check
• Must have a valid passport and be able to obtain necessary visas for international travel
