Job summary

A leading construction machinery company in South Africa is looking for an experienced Automotive Painter to perform touch-up and full spray painting on various equipment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in industrial spray painting, a good understanding of paint materials, and the ability to work safely in a workshop environment. Responsibilities include surface preparation and ensuring high-quality paint finishes. Immediate start is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-up painting and full spray painting on excavators, loaders, cranes and other construction machinery.
• Carry out surface preparation, including sanding, rust removal, cleaning, masking and priming.
• Mix and apply paints according to company colour standards and technical requirements.
• Operate spray guns, compressors, grinders and other painting tools safely and correctly.
• Ensure good paint finishing quality and overall appearance of the machine.
• Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment daily.
• Follow workshop safety rules and required PPE standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in industrial spray painting or automotive / machinery painting.
• Able to independently complete sanding, priming, masking and spray-painting work.
• Good understanding of paint materials, colour matching and basic coating techniques.
• Physically fit and able to work in workshop / outdoor environment.
• Reliable, hardworking, with good work attitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Able to start work immediately.
• Added Advantage : Experience in heavy equipment / construction machinery spray painting and / or coming from a welding, panel beating or mechanical background.
