Reports to: Aftersales Director & National Aftersales Managers

Remuneration: Market Related dependent on skill set, knowledge, and experience

Purpose Of The Job: Our client is seeking a dynamic National Parts Manager to lead our parts operations nationwide. This pivotal role ensures optimal inventory management, seamless logistics, and exceptional dealer support. You will oversee procurement, 3PL partnerships, and shipping processes to deliver world‑class service.

Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Forecasting
  • Forecast parts demand for vehicle models and ensure optimal stock levels
  • Monitor inventory turnover, minimize obsolescence, and perform regular stock audits
Procurement & Purchase Order Processing
  • Place orders with OEM factory and accessory OEM suppliers
  • Track order progress and lead times from placement to receipt
3PL Oversight
  • Coordinate outbound shipments through 3PL partners: manage freight forwarding, consolidation, and real‑time tracking
  • Manage warehousing functions: receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching orders
  • Liaise with 3PL providers to ensure SLA adherence, on‑time delivery, compliance, and resolving discrepancies
Shipping & Logistics Management
  • Understand and manage shipping terms: EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, and DDP as used in international parts orders
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and shipping lines on import documentation
  • Supervise loading/unloading, cross‑docking, last‑mile distribution, returns, and reverse logistics
  • Damages/claims and loss management
Parts Sales & Dealer Support
  • Achieve monthly and annual parts sales targets
  • Maximise first‑pick and first‑fill rates at depot and dealer levels
  • Maximise stock to sales ratios
  • Maximise parts variety coverage efficiency
  • Regular competitor analysis
  • Provide technical and logistical support to field service teams and dealerships
  • Monitor & Evaluate KPI’s and implement continuous improvement strategies
Financial & EPS Oversight
  • Prepare and manage the parts department’s operating budget
  • Set competitive pricing to maximize gross profits while maintaining dealer relationships
  • Approve supplier invoices and ensure timely supplier payments
Team Leadership & Development
  • Hire, train, and supervise parts department staff
  • Conduct weekly team reviews and hold departmental meetings
  • Evaluate team performance and provide coaching
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyse monthly reports on sales, inventory, shipping performance, and expenses
  • Reorganise warehouse and logistic processes for improved efficiency through creating SOP’s based on GAP analysis and improving current SOP’s
  • Participate in management discussions and promotional initiatives
Requirements:
  • Matric certificate: Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ OEM parts/aftersales experience, in an OEM environment
  • Proven experience managing 3PL providers and domestic/international shipping logistics
  • Proficiency with shipping terms (EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, DDP) and customs documentation
  • Strong inventory management skills and high service‑level achievement
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and negotiation skills
  • Advanced MS Excel, Word, PDF, Power Point and ERP/WMS system knowledge
Desirable Competencies:
  • Experience working with customs brokers and knowledge of import/export regulations
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving skills and reporting abilities
  • Must be able to manage multiple project and meet deadlines with accuracy, efficiency with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and multi‑task across stakeholders
  • Must be able to travel local and abroad
  • Must be a team player but be able to operate independently
