Job summary

A leading educational institution is seeking a qualified Auto Electrician based in Port Elizabeth for a contract position. The role includes repairing vehicles and machinery, servicing various types of equipment, ensuring compliance and safety, and performing diagnostic tests on vehicle electronics. Candidates should have a valid Drivers Licence, an Auto Electrical Trade Certificate and 2-3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance. Immediate availability is required.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years post trade experience in a vehicle maintenance workshop or support service infrastructure.
  • Immediate Availability required.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs of vehicles and machinery including trade related maintenance.
  • Servicing of vehicles and plant machines eg LDV's, Service Trucks, Front End Loaders, Forklifts.
  • Attendance to breakdowns.
  • Fitting of electrical accessories.
  • Diagnostic Testing on vehicle electronics.
  • Compliance and Administration.
  • Adherence to safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Technical skills - extensive understanding of mechanical / light systems and tools
