A leading poultry company in South Africa is seeking an experienced Assistant Farmer to assist the main Farmer with daily operations. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of poultry farming experience and 1 year in a supervisory role. Qualifications

• Must be physically fit.
• Should not have allergies to bird feathers or dust.
• Need a valid Code EB driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Help the main Farmer run day-to-day tasks on the site.
• Take full responsibility when the Farmer or Supervisor is not around.
• Prepare chicken houses before chicks arrive.
• Place chicks correctly in their new home.
• Maintain temperature and humidity for chicks.
• Manage feeding schedules and deliveries.
• Ensure strict hygiene rules are followed.
• Check birds daily for signs of illness.
• Maintain important records.
• Manage attendance and training of staff.
