Job summary

A reputable company in the logistics sector is urgently seeking an Assistant Accountant or Junior Accountant. The successful candidate will have a B.Com or similar, alongside a minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant accounting role. Responsibilities include compiling monthly management accounts, reconciling accounts, dealing with SARS, and assisting auditors with monthly audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting or similar role.
• Experience dealing with SARS.
• Capable of assisting with basic accounting software issues.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyse monthly management accounts.
• Reconcile intercompany loan accounts and internal suppliers.
• Assist auditors with required information for monthly audits.
• Review Bookkeepers’ outputs for accuracy in compliance with standards.

• Advanced understanding of Excel

– Experience dealing with SARS

– Compile and analyse monthly management accounts

– Reconcile intercompany loan accounts, internal customers and internal suppliers

– Assist Auditors with the information required from them to perform the monthly audit

– Review the Bookkeepers outputs to ensure accuracy in accordance with international accounting standards and SARS regulations

– Capable of assisting the Bookkeeper with basic accounting software issues
