A healthcare organization in Gauteng is seeking an Admission Clerk for Patient Services to provide essential administrative support for patient admissions. Admission Clerk – Patient Services

Life The Glynnwood Hospital, reporting to Sandy Cross, Admission Supervisor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full administration support to the Admissions Reception.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately record all admissions of patients to the hospital.
  • Carry out accurate admission and receptionist duties.
  • Perform general administration duties involved in the admission of patients.
  • File and assist with billing of accounts.
  • Admit patients onto IMEDS.
  • Operate the switchboard.
  • Handle money.
  • Liaise with medical aids to obtain authorization for admission.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Previous experience working with IT – IMEDS is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are prerequisites.
  • Experience dealing with customers.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures and medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Teamwork essential.
  • Must be able to flex between day and night shift.
