Overview
The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for driving growth and strengthening Sage’s presence in South Africa within the HR & Payroll domain. This role ensures exceptional service delivery to customers and partners while maximizing market share. You will own revenue generation, consistently achieve sales targets, and execute Sage’s sales strategies with discipline and excellence. By proactively developing and managing your sales pipeline, you will contribute to Sage’s success through new customer acquisition, partner collaboration, and long-term customer relationships.
Location: 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Responsibilities
- Consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas for the Sage HR & Payroll suite.
- Drive New Customer Acquisition (NCA) by identifying and targeting high-potential accounts in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
- Manage partner opportunities end-to-end in alignment with the NCA strategy, supporting partners in sales and marketing initiatives that generate revenue.
- Conduct site visits with prospective and existing customers, ensuring alignment with the sales strategy.
- Deliver compelling cost-benefit and needs analyses that clearly present business value, using Sage’s tools and collateral.
- Lead or coordinate product demonstrations, ensuring client requirements are effectively addressed.
- Provide market insights by monitoring trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to drive retention and expansion.
- Manage all sales opportunities in Salesforce, maintaining accurate, up-to-date forecasts and ensuring transparency across the sales lifecycle.
- Demonstrate strong time management by effectively planning and prioritizing daily, weekly, and quarterly goals.
- Actively represent and promote Sage on professional platforms, including LinkedIn.
Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
Essential:
- Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Finance, Business, or Information Technology.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in customer-facing sales.
- Proven sales experience in HR & Payroll solutions.
- Strong presentation and solution demonstration skills.
- Proactive self-starter and independent thinker with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all decision-making levels.
Technical / Professional Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma (Financial, Business, or IT-related field) or equivalent qualification.
- Solid understanding of Payroll and HR processes and systems.
