A grocery import company based in Singapore is seeking a candidate fluent in Malayalam, Hindi, and English to manage procurement and sourcing operations. The role includes negotiating with suppliers, ensuring product quality, and translating documentation for Singapore operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian FMCG categories and experience in supplier management, along with strong negotiation skills.
The company imports groceries, snacks, chips, sweets, and fresh vegetables from South India and other parts of India. The role involves identifying new products, negotiating with Indian suppliers, coordinating private-label (own brand) packaging in India, and ensuring product quality and timely shipments to Singapore.
The candidate must be fluent in Malayalam, Hindi, and English to communicate effectively with regional suppliers, many of whom operate mainly in local languages. The role also requires translating product information, packaging details, and supplier documents from Malayalam and Hindi into English for Singapore operations.
