The team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer to join operations at the client site. This role will be responsible for managing and optimising the IT infrastructure environment, with a strong focus on ensuring business continuity, security, and operational efficiency across systems and services.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security
• Implement and maintain SCOM and other monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
• Ensure systems are up-to-date with patches and security updates
• Provide technical guidance and support for both on-premises and cloud-based environments
• Design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and SLAs
• Perform regular system audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Lead the resolution of complex system issues, providing expert guidance to junior engineers and support teams
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the IT infrastructure, including system configurations, network maps, and change logs
• Manage vendor relationships, collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, providing strategic recommendations for infrastructure enhancements
• Conduct training sessions for IT staff and end-users to improve the utilization of infrastructure resources
• Ensure strict adherence to SLAs, proactively managing and resolving system-related incidents and requests within agreed timelines to maintain high levels of client satisfaction
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability, regularly reviewing SLA compliance reports to identify and address areas for improvement
• Coordinate with the service desk and support teams to ensure a seamless user experience, providing expert technical support and guidance for complex issues escalated from the first and second levels of support
• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using Veeam and other relevant technologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system engineering with a focus on Windows/Microsoft environments
• Strong knowledge of SCOM and other monitoring tools
• Experience with administration on O365, SharePoint, Active Directory, Exchange , HCI (Vxrail) and HyperVisor
• Proven track record of performing technology consultations, accurately scoping projects, and leading successful deployments of IT infrastructure solutions
• Demonstrated expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in Windows/Microsoft environments, including both on-premises and cloud solutions, with a strong understanding of Linux systems as a plus
• Experience in designing and implementing complex IT infrastructure projects, with a focus on scalability, security, and performance
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess current technology environments, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions that align with business goals
• Advanced certifications in Microsoft technologies, cloud computing platforms and ITIL Foundation certification are preferred
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical information into business terms and vice versa
• Familiarity with Veeam backup solutions
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
