About This Role

The role supports HeritageSG (HSG)’s broader mission in deepening public understanding of Singapore’s heritage through meaningful, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate experiences for diverse audiences including families with young children, students, youths, adults, and visitors with diverse accessibility needs.

What You’ll Do

As Senior Manager under the Audience Engagement team, you will lead the planning, development, and delivery of programmes and initiatives at ArCH Square, working under the guidance of the Head, Audience Engagement. You possess a strong understanding of ArCH Square’s vision as a platform and enabler for practitioners, academics, and enthusiasts to transmit knowledge, build capabilities and foster community. You share its mission of empowering individuals and communities to access and contribute to the fields of archaeology and Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), fostering a deeper appreciation of Singapore’s cultural identity and shared heritage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptualise, develop, and implement programmes, resources, and initiatives at ArCH Square for various target groups.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (including archaeology professionals and ICH practitioners) to develop programmes aligned with ArCH Square’s mission.
  • Lead engagement efforts with key stakeholders to ensure the transmission of knowledge, capability building and community engagement.
  • Lead or support initiatives involving ICH or archaeology elements with other HSG museums when applicable.
  • Develop and oversee volunteer engagement strategies to support archaeology-related works and programmes.
  • Prepare proposals, reports, manage programme budgets; ensure project scope, direction, and timelines are on track.
  • Manage administrative and logistical aspects of the programmes which include (but is not limited to) marketing, budget planning, visitor management, feedback analysis, documentation, venue management etc.
  • Oversee and liaise with vendors, suppliers, and external partners for programme delivery and resource development.
  • Supervise interns, junior, temporary and/or outsourced staff supporting ArCH Square’s programmes.
  • Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Management.
Requirements
  • Background in Museum Studies, Archaeology, Education, Arts & Social Sciences, or related fields is preferred.
  • Keen interest in the arts, heritage and museum field, especially archaeology and ICH.
  • Preferred at least 5 years of relevant experience in heritage-projects and/or designing educational programmes for diverse age groups, with demonstrated experience in leading programmes and managing stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with practitioners, community partners, volunteers, vendors and internal teams.
  • Experience in museum education, archaeology or teaching is an advantage.
  • Creative, innovative and resourceful, willing to experiment in uncharted territory.
  • Able to work independently while being a strong team player.
  • Demonstrate initiative and drive, willingness to take on additional duties when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the versatility to adapt to changing needs of projects.
  • Comfortable working outside of regular office hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • IT-savvy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with digital media tools, social-media engagement, or multimedia content creation is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in non-English official languages will be an added advantage.
