Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking a Deputy Head of Nursing (Term-time) to join its nursing team from October 2025 (earlier start may also be possible).

This role combines clinical leadership with team supervision and strategic support within a dynamic school environment. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily nursing operations, supporting the Head of Nursing in planning and decision-making, and stepping into a leadership role when required.

With scope to influence policy, manage resources, and work across departments, it’s ideal for a proactive nurse ready to make a real impact on student wellbeing and nursing excellence.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• The post holder supports and complements all aspect of school nursing and the Head of Nursing through daily clinical supervision of the team and reflective practice;

• Work directly with the team on a daily basis in the health centres, whilst also taking a lead role as required on day-to-day matters, acting as a positive role model who is comfortable and proactive with decision making and with responsibility and accountability;

• Assist the Head of Nursing in planning activities and programmes during school term;

• Assist the Head of nursing with preparation for new school year and managing activities for the holiday periods (eg camps);

• Ensure the Head Nurse is kept well informed and up-to-date of any issues affecting the smooth running of the health centres;

• Assist in the coordination of allnursingactivities related directly or indirectly to student clinical care and first aid;

• Initiates, promotes and actively participates in student and community health education such as PSHE;

• In the absence of the Head of Nursing to manage the nurses and supervise them on a day-to-day basis and to attend meetings in her absence;

• Assist with the implementation of in house professional training and development of the team;

• Assist with and contribute to whole school initiatives and audits such ISO45001;

• Contribute to performance management processes as required;

• Be a visible presence in the College and promote the nursing service throughout the College community;

• Assist with the development and review of Policies and procedures for the Department;

• Assist the Head of Nursing with stock and equipment review, ordering and maintenance;

• Guiding and working collaboratively with trip leaders, outdoor learning and Sports Department regarding medical provision for day and residential trips;

• Adhering to PDPA, ethical and confidential guidelines regarding safe maintenance of all medical records;

• Report and records accidents and incident according to college procedure and give guidance to nursing team where appropriate.

All other duties commensurate with the post.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a relevant and recognised degree or professional qualification in Nursing.

• Be a Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB), with a valid and current licence (renewed annually or as required).

• Have completed the Preceptorship/Clinical Supervision Programme.

• Have a minimum of six years’ experience in paediatric and/or public health nursing, including settings such as the emergency department.

• Be capable of working independently and autonomously, with sound judgement in clinical decision-making.

• Have experience in managing staff and healthcare resources.

• Be skilled in assessing the health and developmental needs of children and young adults.

• Ideally have experience working in an international school environment.

• Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills.

• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey medical information clearly to students, parents, and staff.

• Exhibit a meticulous approach to administrative duties and the maintenance of accurate health records.

• Show a proactive attitude toward the responsibilities of the role.

• Be flexible and willing to work outside normal hours when required.

• Be able to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
