The Senior Nurse Manager leads the nursing team and related healthcare workers in the ward. He/She is responsible for the day-to-day operational work flow in the Nursing Department.
Attend case management rounds and family conferences to ensure that appropriate care and needs of the patients are rendered as well as to resolve problems and attend to feedbacks.
Perform “on call” duties.
Undertake teaching and resource role in nursing practice for nursing.
Compile monthly Incidents and Infections statistics as necessary.
Participate actively in organization meetings.
Conduct performance appraisal according to organization policy.
Promote participation for staff in continuing education and wellness program.
Conduct monthly ward meeting.
Participate in committee work.
Participate in volunteering activities.
Monitor, evaluate and assist in setting standards of nursing care.
Coordinate and collate quality assurance activities i.e. perform quarterly.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Head of Department.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Nursing that is recognised by the SNB, or a Post Basic Qualification.
Preferably 5 years of work experience in providing nursing care; and in a nursing supervisory function in respect of the provision of nursing care, at any inpatient ward of a hospital or nursing home.
Experience in operations and management required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong decision making, action planning, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead, work and strive in multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to demonstrate exceptional organization development skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
