Role Overview

The Nurse Manager/Clinician provides strategic leadership for nursing services in a general hospital, ensuring high‑quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and successful establishment of nursing operations in a new hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
  • Lead and inspire nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance management of nursing personnel.
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and metrics, providing coaching and feedback to support staff growth.
Clinical Oversight
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health, and other departments to implement evidence‑based care protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and monitor patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
Resource & Operational Management
  • Develop staffing models, schedules, and workflows to optimize care delivery and efficiency.
  • Coordinate medical supplies, equipment, and budget management for nursing operations.
Quality Improvement
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and the patient experience.
  • Conduct audits and performance reviews, engaging staff in continuous learning and innovation.
Education & Training
  • Develop and implement orientation, training, and continuing education programs. Provide mentorship, clinical supervision, and support to nursing staff.
Hospital Set‑Up
  • Play a key role in establishing nursing services, workflows, staffing plans, and policies for a new hospital.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and planners to integrate nursing units with clinical best practices and patient‑centred care.
  • Set up systems for inventory, equipment procurement, and infection control for safe, efficient operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Sciences
  • Singapore Registered Nurse with ≥10 years post‑registration experience, including ≥2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in nursing management, preferably in start‑up or expansion of hospital settings.
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
