Head Sommelier / Chief Sommelier

Location: Raffles Place, Singapore
Position Type: Full-Time

One of our clients is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Sommelier to join their dynamic team at an exciting new venue in Raffles Place. This high-end establishment will feature a range of exclusive whisky offerings, including their own limited-edition whisky, and will provide guests with a sophisticated and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all wine and whisky operations, ensuring exceptional service standards and the highest quality beverages.
2. Manage the sommelier team, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure smooth operations.
3. Maintain inventory and ensure the bar and wine cellar are well-stocked with premium spirits, including exclusive and high-end whisky options.
4. Craft and present unique wine and whisky pairings, offering exceptional recommendations to guests.
5. Collaborate closely with the General Manager and other team members to develop innovative wine and cocktail menus, including seasonal offerings.
6. Represent the establishment during special events and whisky seminars held in the private rooms.

Desired Qualifications:

1. At least 3+ years of experience as a sommelier in high-end establishments.
2. Proficiency in Japanese is essential to convey the existence and experience of Singaporean whisky to important Japanese speaking clients.
3. Strong knowledge of premium wines and spirits, particularly whisky, and pairing techniques.
4. Leadership experience in managing sommelier teams and ensuring exceptional customer service.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards during peak hours.
7. Strong attention to detail and a passion for fine wines and spirits.

Additional Requirement:

• Must be willing to join the team by Summer (latest by September) in preparation for the grand opening.

Salary: S$4,000 - S$6,000 per month
