Job summary

A leading steel fabrication company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor. In this role, you will manage incoming materials, oversee warehouse staff, and ensure compliance with ISO and AISC standards. Ideal candidates will have 5–8 years of experience in a steel fabrication warehouse, strong knowledge of materials and ERP systems, and exceptional leadership abilities. This position plays a crucial role in the production flow and material traceability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years experience in a steel fabrication or construction warehouse.
• Ability to read basic drawings, material lists, and MTOs.
• Experience in ISO-certified or AISC-certified steel facilities is a plus.

Job description

We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor who runs the warehouse like a controlled system, not a storage room. This role is critical to production flow, material traceability, cost control, and compliance with ISO and AISC requirements.

You will own incoming materials, storage discipline, issuing to production, stock accuracy, and warehouse staff performance in a steel fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming Materials & Receiving Control

• Supervise receiving of:
• Structural steel sections & plates
• Pipes, angles, sheets, bolts & accessories
• Welding consumables, gases, coatings, and spare parts
• Ensure:
• Correct quantity vs PO & delivery note
• Proper material identification (heat numbers, grades, sizes)
• Visual inspection and segregation of non-conforming materials
• Coordinate with QA/QC for incoming material inspection and release

2. Storage, Identification & Traceability

• Enforce proper storage by category:
• Raw materials
• Consumables
• Spare parts
• Coating materials
• Tools & lifting accessories
• Ensure:
• Clear labeling, tagging, and location control
• FIFO / FEFO where applicable
• Protection from corrosion, damage, or contamination
• Maintain full traceability in line with ISO 9001 / AISC requirements

3. Issuing Materials to Production

• Control issuance of materials to:
• Fabrication
• Welding
• Blasting & painting
• Erection / site dispatch
• Ensure:
• Materials issued match approved drawings / job requirements
• Proper recording of material movement in Odoo
• Prevent uncontrolled or undocumented material usage

4. Inventory Control & Stock Accuracy

• Maintain real-time inventory accuracy in Odoo
• Perform:
• Daily visual checks
• Weekly cycle counts
• Monthly stock reconciliation
• Manage:
• Minimum stock levels
• Re-ordering triggers
• Slow-moving and obsolete inventory
• Work with Purchasing to avoid over-stocking and production stoppages

5. Warehouse Layout & Efficiency

• Organize warehouse layout for:
• Safe movement of steel and forklifts
• Shortest material handling paths
• Clear segregation of materials
• Continuously improve:
• Storage methods
• Handling practices
• Space utilization

6. HSE & Equipment Control

• Enforce safe material handling practices
• Ensure:
• Proper use of forklifts, cranes, slings, and pallets
• Compliance with safety rules and lifting procedures
• Report and eliminate unsafe storage or handling conditions

7. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records for:
• GRNs, issue notes, stock reports
• Material traceability logs
• Inspection and release status
• Support audits for:
• ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
• AISC certification
• Client and third-party inspections

8. Team Supervision

• Supervise warehouse staff, storekeepers, and helpers
• Assign daily tasks and monitor performance
• Train staff on:
• Proper material handling
• ERP usage
• Safety and discipline
• Enforce accountability and order—no chaos, no shortcuts

Required Qualifications & Experience

Must Have

• Minimum 5–8 years experience in a steel fabrication or construction warehouse
• Strong knowledge of:
• Structural steel materials & profiles
• Welding and coating consumables
• Bolts, plates, pipes, and steel accessories
• Experience using ERP systems (Odoo preferred)
• Ability to read basic drawings, material lists, and MTOs
• Strong discipline, organization, and leadership skills

Highly Preferred

• Experience in ISO-certified or AISC-certified steel facilities
• Familiarity with:
• Material traceability requirements
• QA/QC coordination
• FIFO / FEFO principles
• Previous exposure to production-driven warehouses (not trading warehouses)
