Responsibilities
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Inspect tower cranes in order to diagnose defects.
- Assemble and dismantle tower cranes.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on tower cranes.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using according gauges.
- Read, understand and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, and technical / electrical drawings.
- Inspect and test defective parts to diagnose malfunctions.
- Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure factory specifications.
- Oversee the maintenance of quality standards through visual and mechanical inspection methods.
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring the group and self-follow established safety procedures.
- Oversee the handling and disposing of hazardous wastes, such as oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, auto parts cleaner, and similar material.
- Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Complete jobs independently with little assistance from others.
- Properly fill out working reports, hour’s reports, timesheets, hour’s overviews and expense reports.
- Complete assigned paperwork as instructed, including but not limited to inspection reports, service orders, service method of statements, check lists, etc.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting and part-related questions when needed.
- Attend training sessions as required.
- Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance.
- Maintain company cars, tools, machines and equipment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and role model for the other employees to follow.
- Maintain company service literature and maintains a high awareness of technical changes.
Competencies
- Education : High school graduation or preferably a degree in engineering in a relevant field.
- At least 2-3 years direct experience with tower cranes as a service engineer, Liebherr Tower Cranes experience is preferred.
- Must be able to understand, speak and write the English language.
- Ability to interface with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrate ability to handle confidential information.
- Assist the company in any necessary duties to achieve company goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in computer based word processing and spreadsheets.
- Ability to multi-task while completing work in a competent and professional manner.
- Demonstrate initiative to visualize, organize, manage, and complete projects in individual and group settings.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport.
- Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends or on call duty.
