Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support our Powertrain and Electrical/Electronics commodities. This Level 8 role is responsible for leading supplier quality across the full lifecycle—from early design through mass production—ensuring robust manufacturing processes, effective quality controls, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate brings strong engineering fundamentals, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and global suppliers across diverse technologies and maturity levels.

You Will:

• Own supplier quality activities for Powertrain and Electrical/Electronics components, including battery systems, PCBAs, castings, harnesses, ECUs, and molded plastics.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure supplier readiness and alignment with product requirements.
• Drive early design reviews and DFM discussions, incorporating lessons learned and influencing manufacturability improvements.
• Guide supplier selection and qualification, including technical assessments, process capability reviews, and alignment with Lucid’s launch timelines.
• Develop and execute advanced quality plans, including inspection criteria, test methods, and gaging strategies tailored to component complexity.
• Facilitate APQP deliverables and PPAP submissions, ensuring timely and complete documentation from suppliers.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for supplier quality issues, driving containment and long-term resolution.
• Conduct supplier audits and process assessments, identifying systemic risks and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights.
• Support build events and incoming inspection setup, ensuring scalable and effective quality controls.
• Manage change control activities related to supplier components, ensuring traceability and alignment with engineering updates.
• Travel up to 30% globally to support supplier development, audits, and issue resolution.

You Bring:

• 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrialization within automotive or high-volume production environments.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and inspection methods for molded, cast, and assembled components.
• Familiarity with statistical tools such as SPC, MSA, DOE, and capability analysis.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, and quality systems (e.g., IATF 16949, IPC-A-610, ISO 16750).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Exposure to SMT manufacturing, PCB/PCBA testing methods (ICT, Flying Probe, FCT), and low/high voltage components.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Smartsheets, Minitab, JIRA, or Tableau is a plus.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Language skills in Chinese or Vietnamese are a plus.
