About the Role

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in leading day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the finance leadership team in maintaining compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations. The role requires a hands-on individual with experience in a high-growth or FinTech environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
  • Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
  • Assist with consolidation of accounts across multiple entities.
  • Oversee vendor payments, reconciliations, and aging reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable including reconciliation and follow-ups.
  • Ensure all invoices, receipts, and supporting documents are maintained and compliant.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including filing and reconciliation.
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant UAE regulations.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with other departments (operations, product, legal) to ensure financial alignment.
  • Support the finance manager in strategic initiatives and special projects.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) is highly desirable.
  • 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or fast-paced industries.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
