Job description

The overall scope of the job includes serving food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet, providing courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service consistent with the hotel standards and Kempinski’s DNA values to encourage sales and maximize guest satisfaction.

  • Responsible to Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager
  • Report to duty punctually wearing the correct uniform, clean and well pressed, including appropriate shoes (polished) and nametag at all times according to the hotel's dress code & Kempinski grooming standards, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and efficient service at all times.
  • Perform all duties and tasks as required at the outlet.
  • Be knowledgeable of all services and products offered by the hotel.
  • Have thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items offered by the department.
  • Explain and perform upselling of all items offered by the department, including offering alternatives.
  • Monitor operating supplies, equipment, and reduce spoilage and wastage.
  • Keep the work area and surrounding environment clean and organized.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the outlet.
  • Handle guest inquiries courteously and efficiently; report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors.
  • Report guest complaints immediately to supervisors and follow up with the guest.
  • Operate the POS system based on trained responsibilities.
  • Adhere to hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health & safety.
  • Maintain good rapport and working relations with staff within the department and hotel.
  • Attend staff meetings, departmental trainings, and hotel-initiated trainings.
  • Undertake secondary duties as assigned by the Department Head.
  • Respond to departmental changes as directed by hotel management.
  • Assist in scheduled inventories of products and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Project a positive attitude and exercise self-control.
  • Maintain and update the restaurant's guest history.
  • Keep an up-to-date reservation book.
  • Coordinate printing of restaurant menus.
  • Maintain excellent communication with related departments, including Guest Services, Concierge, Restaurant Reservations, and other F&B outlets, In Room dining, and Banquet Service.
