All clinical practices must be delivered in full compliance with Saudi health regulations, organizational policies and procedures, and aligned with international clinical standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities of the role:
  • Provide strong clinical leadership to the pediatric team, ensuring consistent adherence to evidence-based best practices, approved clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and effective implementation of pediatric clinical policies, protocols, and care pathways, aligned with rehabilitation and long-term care service needs.
  • Ensure that all clinical practices are delivered in full compliance with national and international clinical standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support effective service management through the development and oversight of clinical rosters, on-call coverage arrangements, service capacity planning, and continuous monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive quality and operational performance.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated care planning, timely clinical decision-making, and appropriate discharge or transition planning.
  • Ensure proper coordination of referrals, consultations, and external medical appointments, maintaining continuity of care and minimizing delays in patient management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by contributing to clinical audits, incident reviews, risk assessments, and corrective action plans as required.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities related to pediatric inpatient services.
  • Provide clinical input into the management of patient complaints, family concerns, and service feedback, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with nursing, rehabilitation, allied health teams, and administrative departments to maintain safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Participate in staff orientation, supervision, training, and competency assessment for junior physicians and relevant clinical team members.
  • Contribute to the optimization of operational processes by supporting standardization of documentation, reporting, and workflow efficiency within the pediatric service.
  • Provide specialized pediatric medical care to children requiring rehabilitation services, chronic disease management, and long-term care, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Conduct comprehensive initial, ongoing, and periodic medical assessments in accordance with CBAHI patient assessment standards and facility policies.

  • Ensure appropriate management of pediatric-specific needs including pain control, nutritional status, growth monitoring, and developmental surveillance, with proactive interventions when required.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures, investigations, and test results relevant to pediatric practice, supporting accurate diagnosis and effective care delivery.
  • Provide safe and effective pediatric care across applicable settings including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency situations, based on service scope and operational requirements.
  • Respond promptly to pediatric medical emergencies and provide timely, appropriate clinical interventions in line with emergency protocols.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation in compliance with legal, institutional, and accreditation requirements.
  • Adhere at all times to infection prevention and control measures, patient safety practices, and clinical governance standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated, integrated, and comprehensive pediatric patient care.
  • Promote a strong culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management across pediatric services.
  • Identify, report, and actively participate in the investigation and analysis of clinical incidents, near misses, and adverse events, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality (M&M) meetings, and structured quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and service performance.
  • Ensure full adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) standards, including isolation precautions, hand hygiene, and safe clinical practices.
  • Maintain strict compliance with ethical standards, patient confidentiality requirements, and informed consent processes in all clinical interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational patient safety policies, including medication safety, safe prescribing practices, and high-risk procedures management.
