Job summary

A leading engineering services firm is seeking a Project Manager for General Maintenance Contract in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of extensive experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. The role involves managing daily operations and ensuring efficient execution of maintenance plans while fostering strong client relationships. Candidates must be willing to relocate full-time to KSA.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years Oil & Gas / Petrochemical maintenance experience.
  • Experience in mixed-feed cracker / polyethylene / aromatics units preferred.
  • Willing to live full-time in KSA; flexibility to travel internationally.

PROJECT MANAGER – GENERAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT
1. JOB PURPOSE
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
A. Maintenance & Operational Management
  • Manage daily maintenance operations across refinery & petrochemical units.
  • Ensure productive, cost-effective, and efficient execution of the maintenance scope.
  • Ensure alignment to Client maintenance strategy, procedures & best practices.
  • Lead behavioural change, incident prevention and safety culture improvement.
  • Implement training, toolbox talks, permit-to-work systems & Life-Saving Rules.
  • Monitor & review HSE audits, ensure zero major observations.
  • Manage claims, variations, contractual disputes, and change orders.
  • Support procurement & subcontractor management.
  • Lead manpower mobilization strategy for contract start-up (FTE & rental workforce).
  • Monitor utilisation, productivity & organisational efficiency.
  • Coordinate site familiarisation training on Client Units for all personnel.
E. Stakeholder & Client Interface
  • Act as primary focal point with Client Operations & Maintenance Teams.
  • Lead relationship management with Operations, Planning, TAR, Procurement & HSE departments.
  • Provide leadership in client collaboration, feedback management & performance reviews.
  • Participate in Client coordination meetings, audits & strategic planning sessions.
F. Planning & Turnaround Readiness
  • Lead annual & long-term maintenance planning for Clients Plant units.
  • Ensure full readiness for Turnarounds (T&I), shutdowns & critical inspections.
  • Coordinate spare parts planning, resource allocation & scheduling with Client teams.

Minimum 15 years Oil & Gas / Petrochemical maintenance experience

Petrochemical Exposure

Proven ability to lead large multi-cultural teams within refinery environments

Certifications

Preferred : PMP, IOSH / NEBOSH, API / ASME knowledge, SAP / CMMS proficiency

Location

Willing to live full-time in KSA; flexibility to travel internationally
