Role overview

To function as a Pastry Chef De Partie for the Calo Kitchen, working alongside the head chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, monitoring ordering and stocking. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills to maintain and enhance customer satisfaction.

Relationships and working expectations

Provides supervision and direction to personnel in the kitchen.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, meeting quality standards.
  2. Fill in for the head chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
  3. Resourcefully resolve issues and manage problematic situations.
  4. Manage and train kitchen staff, establish work schedules, and assess performance.
  5. Communicate tasks clearly to team members.
  6. Order supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  7. Enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  8. Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers.
  9. Produce high-quality plates, focusing on design and taste.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Previous experience as DCDP or CDP.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the hospitality and catering industry.
  • Currently residing in KSA.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing facility is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of cake decorating experience is a plus.
