Job description

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Estimation Engineer for our projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Study the scope of work & tender document, prepare the tender review sheet, review basic design, create estimation BOQ, and link it with client BOQ.
  • Arrange and attend site visits, prepare detailed visit reports, and attend clarification meetings with clients.
  • Prepare & send out RFQs for materials, vendors, & subcontractors, follow up, prepare technical evaluation sheets, acquire responses, and prepare quotation comparison sheets. Advise on the best quotation based on technical proposals, scope compliance, and delivery periods of long lead items.
  • Study tender drawings, bulletins, and client clarification responses; communicate with suppliers/vendors/subcontractors to obtain offers aligned with final & revised client information.
  • Review client responses, terms & conditions, and offers from suppliers/subcontractors; prepare qualifications, exceptions, deviations, and identify issues affecting prices or project duration.
  • Prepare tender cost estimations, including man-hours, materials, and equipment, considering project location and duration.
  • Calculate direct costs per item, analyzing components (Material, Equipment, Manpower) in accordance with project specifications and ensure pricing is supported by adequate basis of estimate and BOQ.
  • Assist in calculating other costs such as engineering, supervision, management, site & camp facilities, transportation, taxes, insurances, permits, and licenses.
  • Participate in cost variance analysis and invoice processing.
  • Assist in preparing tender schedules, manpower histograms, S-curves, equipment schedules, and organization charts with CVs of proposed personnel.
  • Coordinate with estimation team to update the tender register, including all relevant details like closing date, bid value, validity, clarifications, and award status.
  • Prepare Project Execution Plans and Method Statements, providing draft proposals and participating in milestone schedule preparations.
  • Respond to client clarification requests during technical and commercial evaluations and attend post-clarification meetings.

The candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10-15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a similar position.
