Job description

Eram Talent is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Maintenance to join their team in Saudi Arabia. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer supports the Senior MEP Engineer in managing the operation and maintenance of all Mechanical systems within the client's location. The role focuses primarily on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, hydraulics, and vertical transportation systems, ensuring their reliability, safety, and performance in alignment with project standards and operational goals.

If selected, the work location would be onsite at Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior MEP Engineer in overseeing the maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, hydraulics, elevators, and associated infrastructure, ensuring compliance with established KPIs and industry standards.
  • Ensure proper execution and monitor preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities for mechanical systems in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and approved maintenance plans.
  • Supervise and guide service provider teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to safety regulations and site-specific procedures during mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of mechanical maintenance programs, including reviewing maintenance checklists and task frequency.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical assets to ensure operational integrity, performance efficiency, and compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards.
  • Evaluate the competency and performance of service provider staff; identify skill gaps and recommend relevant training or development actions to the Senior MEP Engineer.
  • Monitor spare parts usage for mechanical systems and contribute to forecasting and inventory control to ensure the availability of critical components.
  • Participate in asset condition assessments and support the Senior MEP Engineer in developing long-term plans for system upgrades, replacements, or modernization.
  • Assist in reviewing/preparing technical documentation, including reports, work completion certificates, method statements, and service records.
  • Conduct troubleshooting for major mechanical system failures, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Participate in commissioning and handover processes for new mechanical installations; raise and track the resolution of EIL items.
  • Promote and maintain safety compliance across all mechanical maintenance activities and actively participate in internal and external HSE audits.
  • Contribute to the implementation of operational policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the reliability and performance of mechanical systems.
  • Provide input during design reviews and scope development for projects involving mechanical systems within the Senior MEP Engineer's area of responsibility.
  • Support the identification and safe decommissioning or disposal of outdated or non-functional mechanical assets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior MEP Engineer, including acting as a liaison between contractors and internal stakeholders when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10-15 years' experience in mechanical design principles, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, and conversant with relevant standards.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including design, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent technical competency in the field of Mechanical systems especially HVAC, Hydraulics & Plumbing, Conveyors.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English.
  • Thorough working knowledge of operating area of assigned department.
  • Must have ability to perform statistical and problem analyses while working under time constraints.
  • Flexible and delivers high-quality results within deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of SAP & MAXIMO system as a monitoring & tracking tool.
  • Position requires face to face telephone and written communications with end users. These communications will range from a simple exchange of information to requests for assistance or service, to more complicated inquiries related to proposed work or work in progress.
  • Have experience in testing of various equipment and systems as part of commissioning and testing the facilities.
