Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (Buildings & Infrastructure)

  • Act as the lead in mechanical matters across projects during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Surveillance of construction activities and highlighting issues related to mechanical discipline.
  • Provide expert guidance on mechanical system design, performance analysis, manufacturing processes, materials, and testing.
  • Support cross-functional teams with insights on mechanical requirements, constraints, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex mechanical failures or issues.
  • Stay updated with advancements in mechanical engineering and integrate relevant innovations into projects and practices.
  • Train, mentor, and support ETSD Q&E mechanical inspectors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical specifications.
  • Assist in the development and standardization of best practices.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • At least 15 years of experience in the mechanical discipline
  • Assets include Resorts & Hotels, Residential (Mansions, Apartments), Healthcare (Family Health Center), Infrastructure (Ski Lifts, Ropeways), Mobility Hubs & Roads, Fire & Police Stations, Ski & Snow Facilities, Water/Waste Utilities (DWW, SPS), District Cooling (H&C Plants), Religious Spaces, Retail & Dining, Communication Substations (TONOMUS), Tunnels & Rail (TTT)
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, ASTM)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and relevant industry standards
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&ID, and other technical documentation
  • Experience with construction and commissioning processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and influence decision-making
