Job description

The Junior QA tester role is a critical function within the QA team. Reporting directly to the QA Lead/QA Manager, you'll collaborate closely with the external Deployment Project Manager, Producer, Product Manager, external Dev. Team QA, and the Engineering teams to ensure best in class test coverage for Scopely projects. You're a master of communication and bug finding wizard, rolling up your own sleeves to take on the solo mission of assisting game teams as an Junior QA specialist.

You will be responsible for many facets of the QA process, from authoring test cases to creating and executing test scripts for new features as well as testing and verifying video games for functionality, bugs, usability, and overall player experience. You'll provide feedback to the development teams, report bugs, and work with QA leads to ensure that game releases are of the highest quality. You will also be expected to provide insight as to potential edge case issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Ad hoc and structured test script based testing
  • Identify and record bugs in Jira and track them through resolution
  • Provide clear and concise feedback to developers
  • Create test cases and test plans for new features
  • Think creatively to come up with new testing solutions
  • Actively participate in weekly team playtests and document issues found

Requirements

  • Passion for games of all genres and all platforms (mobile, PC and console)
  • English proficiency (B2 level or above) - spoken and written
  • Desire to start a career in the gaming industry and learn the ins and outs of how a game is made
  • Strong teamwork skills. This means exactly what it says, nobody gets left behind, and everyone pulls their weight
  • Ambitious, hardworking, and quick learner
  • Come in on time, do your job to the best of your abilities, and make sure you're better than the previous day

Nice to Have

  • Experience collaborating within remote partners
  • Experience with multiplatform games (mobile, console, PC)
  • Steam beta testing experience and a consistent library
  • Forum feedback warrior - 1 page minimum with detailed explanations
  • Microsoft Office XP
  • Economics and Statistics knowledge
  • Provable experience in Unity or Unreal Engine
  • 3D modeling
