Job Purpose

Troubleshoots problems and liaison with vendor for spares & services. Ensures reliability of equipment and suggest improvements. Develops and implements maintenance schedule for equipment. Develops procedures and conducts training for electrical personnel.

  • Implements approved Department policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

  • Analyzes performance of Electrical related systems and provides recommendations. Coordinates with vendors performed maintenance contracts and makes reports
  • Smooth flow of day-to-day Electrical equipment performance

Description

Key Results Area

  • Perform or monitor inspections including high and low voltage terminations; above and below ground electrical installations; transformer and switchgear, electrical motors, switches and other miscellaneous items.
  • Assist and coordinates maintenance programs with user to determine relative priorities and on-time completion of work in critical operating facilities with available work force.
  • Recommends special work schedules during emergency situations and report any deviation from approved schedule and assist to correct.
  • Participates and Review electrical design packages/ job packages, witnessing commissioning, follow up with concern departments to ensure that they are optimized.
  • Resolving technical quires with recourse to 3rd party consultants as necessary
  • Plan, Test & Inspection activities on field-wide and assures that all details of material and equipment spares are available at jobsite.
  • Witness / Tests newly installed equipment/devices to ensure to fulfil requirement of contract specifications.
  • Perform electrical system studies such as system transients, load and reliability calculations. Establishes procedures and instructions required for inspection and maintenance of equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Reviews Project Proposals / Facility Change Request to assure that maintenance aspects are considered in final design/package. Participates in the decisions of replacing equipment by giving technical evaluations
  • Provides on-job training to subordinates, develop their skills to perform their duties in most safe and efficient manner.
  • Review spares and works with procurement / vendor for required spares & services to ensure the equipment maintenance is not delayed because of lack of spare parts.
  • Records and analyzes causes of equipment failure and recommends long-term remedy solutions.
  • Evaluate and analyse critical equipment and MTBF.
  • Mentor and transfer technical knowledge and skills to entry level engineers.
  • Replacement of obsolete equipment's.
  • Lead the investigation team and conduct root cause analysis for chronic issues.
  • Conversant with reliability methodologies like RCM, FMEA, ACA.
  • Consistency in the general provisions.
  • Contractors' evaluation and providing recommendations.
  • Responsible for reliability of equipment
  • Maintains records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
  • Compliance with work instruction and plans.
  • Equipment downtime within specified standards.
  • Contribution to procedures and maintenance instructions updates.
