Objective

The Destination Planner is responsible for the strategic planning and coordination of transportation activities related to goods delivery at destination points. This role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, optimizing delivery schedules, and contributing to the overall efficiency of transportation operation.

General Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to develop and implement strategic transportation plans for goods delivery at destination points.
  • Work closely with Destination Supervisors, Destination Coordinators, and other team members to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Optimize transportation processes at destination points, including routing, scheduling, and mode selection, to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to implement strategies for load consolidation, backhauling, and intermodal solutions.
  • Monitor and analyse transportation performance metrics at destination points, including on‑time delivery, dwell time, and service levels.
  • Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to take corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including customer service, procurement, and logistics teams, to align destination transportation operations with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain effective communication channels to ensure coordination and collaboration between different functions.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to gain insights into destination transportation operations.
  • Support the use of data‑driven decision‑making processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Actively contribute to the identification of areas for improvement in destination processes.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to implement initiatives that enhance destination efficiency.
  • Ensure destination transportation operations comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager and relevant authorities to address safety and compliance issues.
  • Provide regular reports to the Transportation Operations Manager on destination transportation performance, initiatives, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager in formulating policies, procedures, and guidelines related to destination transportation operations.
