Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Civil Engineer on transmission line and substation projects. The Civil Engineer will supervise and manage all civil works at site—including route survey and ROW preparation; earthworks, excavation, backfilling and grading; foundations and piling for towers, gantries, and equipment; concrete and rebar works; cable trenches and duct banks; control buildings; access roads and drainage. Responsibilities include reviewing civil designs and shop drawings, preparing method statements, coordinating with contractors and other disciplines, monitoring progress and QA/QC tests (e.g., soil compaction, concrete sampling), and ensuring compliance with project specifications, local codes, and HSE/quality standards. The engineer will also handle site documentation, as-built records, permitting support, and handover activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Basic knowledge of civil works for transmission lines/substations (foundations, concrete/rebar, backfilling/compaction, trenches/duct banks, simple buildings, roads & drainage)
- Ability to read drawings and follow method statements/ITPs; attention to site documentation and as-builts
- Familiarity with QA/QC basics (e.g., soil compaction checks, concrete slump/cube tests) and HSE principles
- Software: AutoCAD (Civil 3D exposure is a plus), MS Office; basic scheduling awareness (MS Project/Primavera nice to have)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Valid Saudi Driving License
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Membership
