Job Purpose
The Business Technology Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting business systems, applications. This role works under the guidance of the Business Technology Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, technical reliability, and business continuity. The role serves as a hands‑on resource for resolving technical issues, deploying digital tools, and supporting end users across departments.
Key Accountability
- ERP Configurations and Support: Lead the Configurations and ongoing support of the ERP, ensuring that the system is configured and customized to meet the unique needs of the business.
- Build new business applications and microservices using .NET, C#, SQL, and Power Platform tools (PowerApps, Power Automate and low/no code tools). Ensure adherence to clean coding, performance optimization, and security best practices.
- Identify manual or repetitive processes and automate them using tools like Power Automate, UiPath, or equivalent RPA technologies.
- Develop and manage integrations between ERP and third‑party systems (CRM, HR, BI tools, etc.) through APIs, middleware, or data connectors.
- Project Management: Manage ERP‑related projects from inception to completion, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Ensure projects are delivered on time & budget.
- Cross‑Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders across departments such as finance, supply chain, and operations to gather requirements, provide training, and ensure that the ERP system supports their day‑to‑day activities.
- Vendor Management: Communicate and coordinate with external vendors and consultants to address technical issues, implement new modules, and integrate third‑party applications with the ERP.
- User Support and Training: Provide ongoing support to end‑users, troubleshooting issues, and providing training to ensure they can effectively utilize the ERP system.
- Work with business process owners to map current workflows, identify system gaps, and recommend technology‑driven improvements.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure that the ERP system adheres to all relevant compliance standards and internal security policies. Implement and maintain necessary controls to protect sensitive data.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure transparency and continuity.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of working experience with a similar scope
- Strong understanding of ERP solutions specially in Microsoft Dynamics 365 modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.). Proficiency in ERP configuration, customization, and integration.
- Advanced skills in .NET Framework/Core, C#, SQL Server, Entity Framework, and MVC.
- Experience in Automation tools (PowerAutomate, UiPath)
- Experience in API integration, RESTful services, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Proficiency with Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
- Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (React, Angular, or Blazor) is a plus.
- Experience in process automation, RPA (UiPath), or workflow design.
- Experience in working within ITIL or Agile project management frameworks.
- SharePoint development and Power BI integration knowledge preferred.
