The Business Developer is responsible for generating new business opportunities within the IT sector, building strong relationships with clients, and supporting the company’s growth strategy. The role includes receiving RFQs, preparing accurate pricing and cost estimates and submitting competitive proposals for IT solutions and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development (IT Sector):
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in IT solutions, software development, infrastructure services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and managed services.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients across corporate, governmental, and enterprise sectors.
- Present the company’s IT services and capabilities to potential clients.
- Conduct market research on emerging technologies, competitors, and industry trends.
- Build a pipeline of opportunities and participate in strategic planning to grow the customer base.
RFQ Handling & Pricing:
- Receive and review incoming RFQs/RFPs related to IT infrastructure, software, and digital transformation services.
- Coordinate with technical, pre-sales, and finance teams to gather accurate data for pricing.
- Prepare competitive technical-commercial offers and cost estimates.
- Ensure all submissions meet client requirements, compliance standards, and submission deadlines.
- Follow up with clients on submitted proposals and negotiate pricing when required.
Sales & Coordination:
- Participate in client meetings, demos, and technical workshops with the pre-sales team.
- Provide regular sales reports, opportunity status updates, and forecasting.
- Support contract finalization and handover processes to the delivery/implementation teams.
Vendor Registration & Portal Management:
- Register the company on client and vendor portals for government, semi-government, and enterprise organizations.
- Ensure all company documents, certificates, and compliance requirements are updated and uploaded correctly.
- Monitor portal notifications, tender announcements, and updates to ensure timely action.
- Maintain accurate records of all portal registrations, statuses, and renewal dates.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development within the IT or technology sector.
- Strong knowledge of IT solutions (networking, cloud, software, cybersecurity, hardware, IT infrastructure).
- Experience in preparing RFQs/RFPs and pricing IT projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and proposal preparation.
