IT Manufacture Execution Systems

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Manufacturing Applications Manager, the Senior MFG Application Engineer will be part of the wider manufacturing IT team responsible for implementing all manufacturing applications required in the smart factory. The role involves supporting digital transformation initiatives by implementing and maintaining manufacturing solutions, ensuring smooth operations, and driving technology adoption. The ideal candidate should have experience in system implementation at manufacturing sites and a strong interest in deploying new technologies.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support the implementation and operation of manufacturing solutions, from requirement gathering to system commissioning and ongoing support.
  • Steer solution design and implementation for manufacturing applications, proposing standard out-of-the-box solutions or customizations in existing apps or low-code platforms.
  • Implement and support the close quality loop and manufacturing engineering applications.
  • Deploy any additional applications required on the manufacturing shop floor.
  • Coordinate and manage third-party vendors to ensure software delivery within project scope.
  • Provide Level 2–3 system support for implemented applications, resolving incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure and other application teams to ensure smooth implementation and service delivery.
  • Train and mentor operational teams and stakeholders to ensure effective use of software and related tools.
  • Align and coordinate with solution architects on the Manufacturing IT landscape for smart factory initiatives.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline.
Skills & Competencies
  • Experience in implementing and supporting applications; prior experience with manufacturing solutions is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with full software development lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile).
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Experience with applications such as MES, PLM, SAP, and network architecture.
  • Knowledge of low-code platforms and software development.
