Right now, we are looking for Plataform Engineer Lead to join our Cloud Studio at Globant!

We are seeking an experienced Lead Platform Architect to design and implement an enterprise-grade AI Gateway platform that provides automated governance, security, and optimization for Large Language Model (LLM) consumption across our organization. This role will lead the technical vision and architecture decisions for a critical platform engineering initiative.

• Architecture & Design

• Design scalable, secure, and performant AI Gateway architecture supporting 10,000+ concurrent requests

• Define technical standards and patterns for AI governance, security, and compliance

• Create comprehensive technical documentation and architectural decision records (ADRs)

• Lead technical evaluation and selection of AI gateway solutions (Kong, Tyk, Portkey, etc.)

• Design multi-region, high-availability deployment architectures

• Technical Leadership

• Lead a team of 3-5 senior platform engineers and provide technical mentorship

• Conduct architectural reviews and code reviews for complex platform components

• Define and implement platform engineering best practices and standards

• Collaborate with security, compliance, and infrastructure teams on cross-functional requirements

• Drive technical decision-making and resolve complex architectural challenges

• Platform Engineering

• Oversee implementation of AI gateway infrastructure using Kubernetes, service mesh, and cloud-native technologies

• Design and implement policy management systems with declarative configuration

• Architect observability and monitoring solutions for AI workloads

• Design cost optimization and intelligent routing algorithms

• Lead integration with enterprise systems (SIEM, identity providers, API management)

• Governance & Compliance

• Define technical approach for data loss prevention and content filtering

• Design audit logging and compliance reporting systems

• Implement security controls and guardrails for AI interactions

• Ensure platform meets regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)

• 8+ years of platform engineering experience with focus on API management, service mesh, or gateway technologies

• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native architectures

• Strong experience with AI/ML platforms and LLM integration patterns

• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java for platform development

• Experience with API gateway solutions (Kong, Tyk, Istio, Envoy, AWS API Gateway)

• Strong understanding of security principles, authentication, and authorization patterns

• Architecture & Design

• Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems

• Experience with microservices architectures and service mesh technologies

• Strong understanding of observability patterns (Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing)

• Experience with policy engines and rule-based systems

• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm, GitOps)

• Leadership & Communication

• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and complex projects

• Strong communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices

• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Experience with AI governance platforms (Portkey, ModelOp, Kong AI Gateway)

• Knowledge of LLM technologies and generative AI applications

• Experience with enterprise compliance frameworks and audit requirements

• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Experience with WebAssembly (WASM) for extensible gateway architectures

• Previous experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government)
