The Lead Data Scientist is tasked with spearheading the development and implementation of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and optimization solutions aimed at addressing complex logistics and supply chain challenges within DHL Supply Chain LatAm. This role merges extensive technical expertise with the leadership of a small, high-performing team (2 members) to deliver scalable, data-driven innovations that enhance decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and generate business value.
A primary focus of this position is to introduce and apply state-of-the-art mathematical and technical capabilities, ensuring that solutions are both analytically robust and practical for scaling. The Lead Data Scientist is expected to remain abreast of emerging trends in data science and AI, guiding the team in the adoption of new methodologies and technologies that can be seamlessly integrated into operations.
Talent with a Data Scientist profile with a strong background in logistics or supply chain environments. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3 years with a Master's/PhD, including at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
A proven track record in delivering impactful optimization and machine learning models is essential. Candidates should possess strong technical skills in programming (Python, SQL), familiarity with data science techniques, and experience in managing cross-functional stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is required, with a Master's or PhD preferred. Relevant certifications in machine learning or data science are a plus.
