Role Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor (Inbound/Outbound) – Second Shift is responsible for overseeing and coordinating inbound receiving activities and outbound shipping operations during the second shift. This role ensures accuracy in material handling, inventory movement, documentation, and on‑time order fulfillment. The Supervisor leads warehouse personnel, enforces safety and quality standards, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse performance.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Supervise, train, and support warehouse associates assigned to inbound and outbound activities.
  • Plan and allocate labor across receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, and shipping tasks.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance oversight to shift personnel.
  • Ensure proper shift coverage, manage attendance, and support onboarding of new employees.
Inbound Operations (Receiving & Put‑Away)
  • Oversee receiving of materials, components, and products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with documentation.
  • Ensure materials are inspected, labeled, and moved to the proper storage locations.
  • Coordinate with quality and purchasing teams regarding discrepancies or damaged goods.
  • Maintain efficient unloading, staging, and put‑away processes.
Outbound Operations (Picking, Packing & Shipping)
  • Supervise order picking, kitting, and packing activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Verify that outbound shipments meet packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with carriers, logistics partners, and internal departments to meet shipping schedules.
  • Ensure staging areas are organized and workflow supports on‑time delivery (OTD/OTIF).
Inventory Control & Documentation
  • Ensure accurate transaction recording in ERP/WMS systems.
  • Support cycle counts, stock rotation, and resolution of inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper documentation for receiving and shipping logs during the shift.
  • Ensure traceability and recordkeeping are compliant with internal and regulatory standards.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Enforce safety standards and conduct routine inspections of warehouse areas.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe equipment operation practices.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and support 5S initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and handling requirements.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse flow, space utilization, and process efficiency.
  • Support Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives across inbound and outbound operations.
  • Assist in implementing new systems, technologies, or equipment to enhance efficiency.
Reporting
  • Prepare shift reports covering inbound/outbound volumes, discrepancies, KPIs, and incidents.
  • Track performance indicators such as receiving accuracy, picking accuracy, OTD/OTIF, and productivity.
  • Communicate shift outcomes to Warehouse Manager and incoming shift leaders.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in warehouse supervision or logistics leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of inbound/outbound processes, inventory control, and material flow.
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-volume distribution environments is a plus.
Skills
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/WMS experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work second shift.
