Role Summary

We are seeking a talented UI / UX Designer to join our professional services team, specializing in building innovative AI-powered solutions on Amazon Web Services.

In this role, you will be the bridge between complex technical capabilities and intuitive user experiences, working closely with our Data Engineering, Data Science, and Development teams to transform sophisticated solutions into accessible, user-friendly interfaces.

You will engage directly with clients to understand their business needs, translate technical requirements into compelling design solutions, and ensure our AI-driven products deliver exceptional user experiences.

This position requires someone who can thrive in a technical environment while maintaining a strong user-centered design approach.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Strategy

• Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering sessions with clients to understand business objectives and user needs
• Create comprehensive design documentation including user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups
• Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries that scale across multiple client projects

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to understand model outputs and design intuitive ways to present complex data insights and predictions
• Collaborate with Backend and Frontend developers to ensure technical feasibility while pushing for optimal user experiences
• Work with Data Engineers to understand data pipelines and design interfaces for data visualization, monitoring, and management tools
• Facilitate design workshops and sprints with both internal teams and client stakeholders

Client Engagement

• Present design concepts and rationale to clients, effectively communicating design decisions and their business value
• Manage client expectations and feedback throughout the design iteration process
• Translate complex AWS and AI / ML concepts into understandable visual representations for non-technical stakeholders

Technical Implementation Support

• Create detailed design specifications and assets for development handoff
• Participate in agile development processes, providing ongoing design support during implementation
• Conduct design reviews and quality assurance to ensure final products match design intent
• Optimize designs for performance, accessibility, and responsive behavior across devices

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Proven track record of taking products from concept to production in a B2B or enterprise environment
• Experience working in cross-functional teams with engineers, data scientists, and product managers
• Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and problem-solving abilities for complex workflows
• Experience with user research methodologies and data-driven design decisions

Technical Skills

• Design Tools : Expert proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD; experience with prototyping tools like Principle, Framer, or ProtoPie
• Frontend Understanding : Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) to effectively collaborate with developers
• Data Visualization : Experience with data visualization best practices and tools (D3.js, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar)
• Version Control : Basic understanding of Git workflows and collaboration tools

Desired Qualifications

• Understanding of data science workflows and machine learning concepts
• Experience with design systems and component-based design approaches
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
• Experience in professional services or consulting environments

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
