A technology solutions firm based in Mexico, Chiapas is seeking a Technical Services Manager to lead the Technical Service department in Electronics, IT, and solar projects. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, manage budgets, and support team members in a cross-cultural environment. Essential qualifications include a license in technology-related fields, Bible College training, and strong knowledge of electronics and communications. This role requires good communication and the ability to travel to remote locations as needed.

Formación

  • Drivers license is essential.
  • Sound theoretical knowledge of electronics and communications is required.
  • Experience in project management necessary.

Responsabilidades

  • Oversee the Technical Service department including Electronics, IT, and Solar.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice for quality service.
  • Plan and maintain the annual budget for Technical Services.

Conocimientos

Drivers license
Sound theoretical knowledge of all phases of electronics and communications
Project Management experience
Understanding of AC‑coupled solar systems

Educación

Qualification in radio, electronics, computing or related area of technology
Bible College Training/TEE course

They use services such as radio communication, computing, solar lighting and digital audio Bibles. Technology in PNG is advancing rapidly, and MAF Technologies is here to help. We have a great opportunity for a Technical Services Manager to join our MAF Technologies team to oversee the technical proficiency of MAF Technologies, its services, staff and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Technical Service department, which includes Electronics, IT and Solar/Electrical.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice, both internally and externally, to find solutions and ensure quality service.
  • Plan and maintain the PNG Technical Services annual budget, supervise invoicing, and provide regular and special reports in conjunction with the Accounts Office.
  • Facilitate research & development and lead projects as required.
  • Coach, train and support national team members with ongoing work, projects, and learning and development.
  • Oversee the NATTB apprenticeship program and ensure technical supervisors can manage trainees.
  • Maintain and improve personal and professional standards through necessary training courses determined by the Programme Manager, and model a safety culture in line with MAFI standards.
  • Attend management meetings, contribute to policy making and management decisions, and participate in monitoring the Radio Network and handling emergency calls.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with staff and clients.
  • Maintain organized, responsible work habits, meet deadlines, and work under pressure when needed.
  • Be physically fit and able to travel to remote locations as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential:
  • Drivers license
  • Qualification in radio, electronics, computing or related area of technology
  • Bible College Training/TEE course
  • Sound theoretical knowledge of all phases of electronics and communications
  • Understanding of AC‑coupled solar systems
  • Understanding of AC/DC coupled systems
  • Project Management experience
Desirable:
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering
  • Fluency in English (spoken & written)
  • Experience working in a cross‑cultural team
  • Experience in delivering training (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in radio and/or electronics, including servicing or manufacturing of aerials, radio/audio equipment, electrical appliances, control equipment, other electrical or electronic devices; design and construction of ancillary equipment
  • Experience in managing people
