• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to improve system reliability.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement new systems and solutions to support business operations.
• Monitor and maintain system performance to ensure high levels of availability and security.
• Manage and configure servers, networks, and storage solutions.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data.
• Lead or participate in IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Conocimientos

Expertise in Windows, Linux, and UNIX systems

Knowledge of network protocols, routing, firewalls, and VPNs

Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware

Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)

Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef)

Remote Status: Fully Remote - it is a plus if you're willing to travel to Belize if needed

Job Type & Title: Systems Engineer

Probation Period: 90 days

Start Date: To be determined

Schedule: Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm, full time hours

Compensation: To be determined based on experience

Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing infrastructure.

This role involves managing complex systems, ensuring optimal performance and security, and providing expert technical support to meet the evolving needs of our business.

Primary Responsibilities

System Design and Implementation

• Design and implement new systems and solutions to support business operations.
• Develop and manage system configurations and ensure compliance with company policies.

System Maintenance and Support

• Monitor and maintain system performance to ensure high levels of availability and security.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
• Conduct regular system audits and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.

Infrastructure Management

• Manage and configure servers, networks, and storage solutions.
• Implement and manage virtualization technologies and cloud services.
• Ensure infrastructure scalability and redundancy to support business growth and continuity.

Security Management

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data.

Project Management

• Lead or participate in IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones.
• Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders.

Vendor Management

• Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools.
• Ensure that vendor contracts and service level agreements are met.

Collaboration and Training

• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Provide training and support to end-users and other IT staff.
• Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices.

Documentation and Reporting

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and changes.
• Provide recommendations for improvements based on analysis and reporting.

Required Skills

Technical Proficiency

• Operating Systems: Expertise in Windows, Linux, and UNIX systems.
• Networking: Knowledge of network protocols, routing, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
