The candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish with a relevant degree and at least three years of procurement experience. Responsibilities include sourcing materials, supporting cost reduction projects, and facilitating supplier initiatives. The position allows for remote work within Mexico with some travel required. Reporting to the CVP Strategic Procurement Manager, you as a Strategic Buyer will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating the direct materials from vendors. Provides strong day-to-day support of manufacturing Operations in providing support appropriate to attaining On Time Delivery and Cost Containment for Strategic and Base Business customers.

Responsibilities

• Source materials following established purchasing policies and procedures to optimize price, delivery, and payment terms with minimum supervision.
• Provide Procurement support for Annual Cost Reduction goals/budgets.
• Be responsible for initiatives to positively impact the Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
• Work with cross-functional teams on cost reduction projects.
• Support fulfillment team for on-time delivery by expediting open orders, seeking out alternative materials and alternate supply sources.
• Provide the Procurement function in the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change (ECO) process in a timely way to prevent NPI/ECO delays that could affect demand fulfillment or loss of New Business.
• Support payment term negotiation to achieve DPO (Days Payables Outstanding) target.
• Facilitate supplier consolidation, localization initiatives.
• Position may be Virtual/Remote work within Mexico with occasional travel to suppliers or Littelfuse plants.

Qualifications

• Relevant BS degree or equivalent work experience in Procurement.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Three years’ minimum experience in procurement in a manufacturing or related environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP is highly desired.
• Category Management experience for the following commodities and knowledge of Mexico supplier base is highly desired: electronic components, printed circuit boards, metal fabrication, fasteners, raw material (metals), injection molding parts.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of multi-tasking with strong follow-up skills and the ability to adjust to priorities.
• Ability to coordinate and track activities by metrics.
