A membership association for aerospace seeks a social media contractor to enhance its presence on social platforms. This role involves promoting membership, brand awareness, and revenue growth through strategic campaigns targeting a younger audience (ages 18-35). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong copywriting skills, engage with the community, and analyze social media performance. The position is expected to start by March 2026, and applications should be submitted by February 13.

The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA), a membership association dedicated to advancing, promoting, and supporting American airpower and spacepower, is looking for a social media contractor to manage our regular social presence while supporting digital campaigns to achieve our goal of vastly expanding our membership base.

The primary objectives for this role and AFA's social media strategy are:

  • Promote AFA membership with channel-first marketing strategies, to better reach and engage with new and specific demographics on the appropriate platforms. We specifically want to attract the attention and interest of a younger audience (age 18-35) to help us grow membership.
  • Build brand awareness via specific campaigns that promote our programs, events, and mission, among individual AFA members, our industry partners, and the Department of the Air Force.
  • Drive revenue through direct fundraiser campaigns, campaign-integrated donation opportunities, and reaching new corporate sponsors.

To achieve these objectives, the social media contractor’s scope of work will include:

  • Creating posts that demonstrate high-quality copywriting, modern visual design, and a strategy consistent with our above goals.
  • Clipping compelling video shorts from our various events, speeches, podcasts, etc. (with assistance from the HQ Comms team)
  • Monitoring comments, mentions, and other engagement on individual platforms.
  • Tracking, interpreting, presenting, and learning from analytics.
