Ramboll is seeking a highly motivated Environmental, Health and Safety Consultant to join the firm! We invite you to bring your strong analytical abilities into play as you evaluate contamination and regulatory compliance risks and other environmental, health and safety issues. To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelors' degree in Environmental, Chemical Engineering or Sciences, Sustainability, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or other related Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology field with related consulting experience. Masters' degree in related field is a plus. This position is a full-time position (40 hours per week) serving at either Ramboll's Mexico City or Monterrey Nuevo Leon offices.

You will join our Ramboll Environment & Health Department As our new Senior Environmental, Health And Safety Consultant, you will be part of a dynamic team providing state-of-the-art scientific, technical, and strategic risk management assistance to an international client base. You will split your time between office-based work, including reviewing project-related materials and writing reports, and site visits (including some local/regional/international travel).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Completing environmental site assessments of commercial and industrial sites.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews of multi-site portfolios for attorneys, lenders, developers, and industrial clients.
  • Completing environmental and social due diligence services for international financing of large infrastructure projects.
  • Supporting projects in achieving conformance and compliance with international sustainability standards.
  • Completing and managing limited environmental compliance reviews of industrial sites, by reviewing and abstracting regulatory requirements for multi-media environmental compliance.
  • Reviewing and managing site investigation reports and providing conclusions and opinions related to the extent of contamination, recommendations, and development of scopes of work for site investigation activities.
  • Preparation of technical reports that effectively communicate (summarize) site findings.
  • Formulating conclusions and opinions and communicating with clients.
  • Travel to industrial and commercial facilities for site visits (typically one day in duration), including both local and non-local travel.
  • Supporting multiple projects and meeting high quality standards.
  • Supporting client environmental and health and safety permitting activities.

For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • A minimum of a BA or BS in Geology, Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Geologic Engineering), Environmental Science or Environmentally-Related Field from an accredited institution and have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in environmental consulting. Masters degrees are welcomed but not required.
  • An understanding of the Phase I ESA requirements and the due diligence process.
  • Experience working within the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) process is a plus but not required.
  • Possess knowledge of multi-media environmental compliance topics and general understanding of Mexican federal and state regulations.
  • Classwork or experience with site assessment and investigation, contaminant fate and transport, pollution control and design, regulatory policy, and GIS mapping a plus.
  • Willingness/ability to travel up to 40% of the time on average during the year and possess a valid driver's license. Travel may include overnight stay and may be out of state or event requiring international travel.
