R&D BUYER PLANNER

As an R&D Buyer Planner you will be supporting our Supply Chain Planning Family, you will develop proficient entry‑level skill in procurement functions directly associated with timely planning of Development Projects materials, tooling, services, and planning schedules. Establish skillset and ability to analyze and define inventory levels.

In this role, a typical day will include

• Timely Project Procurement. Planning and scheduling of material receipt / services.
• SRM Ariba system procurement proficiency.
• Support annual Cost of Goods (COGs) for New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Proficient in creating and submitting First Time Buys.
• Reviews, dispositions Prototype Engineering Change Notices (PECN's) and Production Engineering Change Notices (ECN's).
• Maintain data that affects Material Requirements Planning (MRP) output such as lead‑time, minimum orders, lot sizes, safety stock, etc.
• Responsible for timely review of non‑conforming material and understanding of material movement through warehouse processes.
• Executes movement of material both internally and externally.
• Initiate new part setup.
• Secures and analyzes quotes, initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and / or tools.
• Open work orders within the established guidelines.
• Appropriately communicate issues to internal stakeholders.
• Timely reconciliation of invoices.
• Takes Guidance from Senior Level Buyer / Planners for day‑to‑day tasks.

What you’ll bring to Alcon

• Mechatronics, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or bachelor’s degree in administration.
• 1 year of experience or less of directly related experience.
• Good communication skills, proactive, dynamic, empathetic, fast learning.
• Basic SAP and / or Ariba System.
• Good written and verbal English skills.
