Supplier Quality Engineer – Bosch

Bosch is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join its purchasing team. This role is responsible for ensuring that component suppliers meet Bosch and automotive industry standards, minimizing quality-related disruptions to production. The engineer will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with industry requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Supplier Claims Management: Oversee supplier claims, coordinate containment actions, and ensure the availability of certified components for manufacturing. Be the focal point to the coordination of 8D\'s with supplier assuring TRC / MRC and the necessary actions.
  • Defect Cost Recovery & Concessions: Track defect costs, manage concessions, and ensure adherence to processes.
  • Audits & Compliance: Conduct supplier and internal audits, ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards.
  • Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in problem-solving activities and Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP).
  • Sorting & Defect Management: Ensure proper sorting operations, including inspector training, defect catalog application, and NOK (non-conforming) part segregation.
  • KPI & Process Tracking: Monitor local KPIs, update PBI reports (scrap, costs, etc.), and lead task forces for quality improvement.
  • PPAP & Supplier Quality Improvement: Support the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and lead initiatives to improve supplier quality.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Language Skills: Advanced English proficiency required (ability to lead meetings and communicate effectively with international suppliers and stakeholders). German is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Experience with statistical techniques and quality reporting.
    • Hands-on support and attention to detail required.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of assembly processes (preferred background).
    • Knowledge of metrology and industry-standard measurement techniques.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, process documents, and quality assurance standards.
    • Familiarity with quality strategies for new product launches and ongoing production quality management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
